Most of My Week

Most of my week has been spent hovering over a finance workbook and punching numbers into a financial calculator all in preparation for my next test.


This is what I saw when I looked up from my studies--a very bored looking dog. The test is Monday--yea!

Spring Soccer

Spring Soccer officially started a few weeks ago and Julia had another game this morning. Although her team has yet to win a game, they play great together and have a lot of FUN.

My New Wheels

Saturday afternoon I came home to find this beauty in my living room. Knowing I had my eyes on this particular bike, Dan went and bought it for me while I was gone and had it waiting for me when I returned. When I walked in the door he told me the dog had done some serious damage in the living room and that I'd want to see it. I was a little suspicious because Scout hasn't done anything destructive before. To my happy surprise, I found the bike and a matching helmet parked inside. Julia and I immediately went on a bike ride together because after all it was a perfect spring day. I can't wait to sport my new cruiser on campus come spring term...

Stuff

I am SO behind in blogging but here is a short recap of some of the things that have been going on lately. Last Thursday night we went with all the youth in our ward to the Draper Temple Open House. Needless to say the structure's exterior and interior are beautiful beyond on words. It was wonderful to be in the temple with all four girls and see their expressions as they viewed all the different rooms. The bride's room was definately a favorite for them.


Saturday afternoon Emily was asked to the Junior Prom (which is on April 11th). When the doorbell rang, Dan and I opened the door, looked down and saw this blue container. I immediately thought one of the neighbor kids had left us a "gift" (this happens frequently especially when the weather warms up). However, Dan wised up quickly and realized it had to be a "prom thing." Indeed it was and when we figured it out squeals echoed throughout the house (and probably the neighborhood). Emily is so excited!


She answered her date last night and continued with the "fish" theme that came with the invitation. To make Emily's week even better (if that's possible), she was named Editor-in-Chief of Timpview's newspaper next year. This is something she really wanted and we are thrilled she'll have this opportunity her senior year of high school.

Dancing Queens

I snapped this picture early this morning before Hannah and Hilary headed to BYU for a ballroom dance competition. I'm pretty sure they haven't dressed alike or worn their hair the same since they were in first grade. Well, this morning they left looking like twins--white shirt, black skirts, and hair pulled back in a bun. I have to admit memories of dressing them in identical outfits came flooding back to me. I loved dressing them alike back then but I always knew it wouldn't last. I knew that it was more important as they got a little older to encourage them to dress individually and let them pick their own clothes. So, I savor the days when they were little and I love that they like to be different now. Where does the time go?

A Salute to Julia

There has been a trend at our house the last few weeks--Julia bringing home a Satch Salute from her teachers. For those of you who don't know what this is, well, it is the kind of note every parent likes to see sent home from school. I love the fact that these teachers look for the positive things their students are doing and them recognize them for it. What great motivation it is to the student! Today Julia was recognized for being the first girl in her class to pass off all the timed multiplication facts. Way to go J.J.--you're awesome!

Backstage Pass

Saturday night at Timpview the family attended "Backstage with the Jazz Band" to support Emily. For three hours, the jazz band players rocked backstage with their jazz ensembles for students and family. It was a blast! Of course, my favorite part was listening to Emily pound the piano keys with her friends looking on.


Not long after we arrived I noticed Hannah's discarded boots in the middle of the dance floor. (She takes her dancing seriously!)


Julia got into the swing of things from the get go and loved dancing with everyone!


When Emily wasn't at the piano, she too was on the dance floor with her friends and sisters.

Even Dan and I got into it--surprising to me it was his idea to dance! It was a late night but well worth the fun and entertainment. Thanks Emi for the invite!
