A Favorite Photo

Provo East Stake Youth Conference 2011 at Snow College in front of Lorenzo and Erastus Snow statues
One of our fabulous young women leaders took this picture at youth conference of Dan and Hilary and Hannah. I love it because it is not only a great photo of all of them, but it is also in front of the Namesakes' Statue at Snow College.

They were able to see up close some of the amazing contributions of their forefathers.

Thanks Nikki!

They're Legal

After tracking down the football coach (aka Driver's Ed teacher) at the crack of dawn on the football field at Timpview and convincing the coaching staff they were not there to watch the players practice...
Hilary and Hannah retrieved the required papers to take to the DMV and finally got their...

DRIVERS LICENSES!

While they are responsible and careful drivers,
I can't help silently saying a prayer every time they walk out the door with the car keys.

Another major milestone in the lives of these girls!

Quiet Week

Holy cow it has been a quiet week around here!

Hilary and Hannah, along with their dad, have been at StakeYouth Conference at Snow College
and down to St. George for some extended fun while Dan did some work.

They endured the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti...they weren't overly impressed.
I guess after the Hill Cumorah Pageant it's a tough act to follow.
They also found out that mosquito repellent is a necessity further south, even during the day!
They were able to do baptisms in the historic Manti Temple
(which they missed last year when our ward went down).
All in all they had a blast!

While I've been able to get A LOT of projects done...like finally painting Hilary's room,
cleaning out the kitchen pantry so we can see the floor again and the like,
I sure miss these girls. And of course their dad too :)

Father's Day

I have been incredibly blessed in my life with amazing men.
My own father is principled and has always been present in my life. He provided a wonderful home and I always knew he would protect and provide for me. I have the best brothers...great dads in their own right...who continue to love and support everyone around them. And last, but not least, my sweet father-in-law, who from the moment I entered the Snow family, has treated me like one of his own daughters.

Now for my absolutely favorite father....

Before I married Dan, I remember my dad specifically asking me what kind of father I thought Dan would be and how he was with children. I knew then, like I absolutely know now, that Dan is an incredible father. I always say that he is the perfect dad for a household of girls. He is the most patient person...ever. He is understanding and sensitive and truly without guile. He is positive...always...forgiving and FUN.

I know I speak for this household of girls...we love you!

Happy Father's Day Dan!

13.1

He did it...Dan completed the Utah Valley Half-Marathon bright and early this morning.
I'm so proud of him for sticking with the all the training even though he had plenty of excuses to not find the time to do it. I, on the other hand, used all my excuses and opted out of the race. The nail in the coffin came when I heard we'd have to get up at 3:30 am to catch one of the buses you had to take to get up the canyon to the starting line :)

Hannah and I woke up early (for a Saturday) and made sure we were at the finish line to cheer him on his last stretch. He beat his goal and came in around 1 hour 48 minutes. Not bad for a 40 something year old guy!

Dream Job

I seriously can't believe it...
I landed my dream job (next to being a mother of course)...

I will be teaching third grade at the "best school in the land" part-time in the fall.
I am so excited!
