Christmas Eve 2008

I enjoy Christmas Eve almost more than Christmas Day. Every year we have a nice family dinner consisting of the same menu. The fire is crackling, snow is falling and the yummy smells from the kitchen make it a Norman Rockwell scene.

After dinner, we each opened one present with Grandpa and Grandma Snow and then gathered around the Christmas tree. Christmas Eve also includes watching or reading the Nativity and reminding each of us of the true meaning of the season.

Earlier in the day, the girls played in the snow and created our first snowman of the season. We wrapped up the evening at the Andersens for a great mini concert performed by the Andersen boys.

What is your Christmas Eve menu? I host Christmas Eve for both sides of our families and I am always looking for a good menu to make a tradition.

Our menu is really quite simple--Honeybaked Ham; Au Gratin potatoes (homemade); a favorite salad and favorite veggies and homemade rolls. Hope you had a great Christmas Kelly!

Sounds yummy! Thanks for the idea. Simple is good on Christmas Eve, especially when I am feeding lots of people! :) We had a great Christmas with Rhett. Looks like you guys did too!
