Last night, Dan and I attended the Cross Country Banquet to celebrate the end of the season with Hilary and Hannah. Above is one of their team pictures-- do not let the sun shining fool you--it was freezing when they took these pictures!
Although the banquet was brutually long (we left after 2 1/2 hours)...I must say you can learn a lot about your children.
For instance, the team captains gave out "fun" awards to each of the runners.
Hannah received the award for "Smoothly Conversing with Boys."
Hilary received the award for "Conversing Equally Smoothly with Boys."
I don't know who blushed more, me or them.
Not long after their awards were presented, a young man on the boys team
received the "I Like Twins" Award. Hmm... I think there is a story behind all of this!
The highlight of the evening came when the coaches presented their awards.
To all of our surprise, Hannah was presented with The Freshmen of the Year Award.
To say that Hannah was shocked is an understatement.
The happiest moment for me though was watching Hilary reach over and give Hannah a hug and genuinely congratulate her. What could be a really competitive situation for them has been nothing but positive because of their great attitudes.
We can't wait for next season!

So neat! I know you probably think it's weird that I like to hear these kind of things about your girls, but I love it! It makes me feel like I know them better!
I can't wait to go to fun sporting events with my kids and be a proud parent (NOT 2 1/2 hour ones though...I remember those days!)
Congrats to both Hilary and Hannah on a great season! Two awesome girls!
