I love how he addresses her "Dearest Grandma" and ends all the letters with a loving farewell and then signs "Daniel."
Dan is not much of a writer, but only because he chooses not to write.
There are two journals that he has kept over the years... one on his mission and the other when he went on Israel study abroad. I always tell him that our posterity is going to have a stilted view of our lives because they'll only be able to read it from me.
When I come across something like this or he leaves me a note or card... I treasure it.
Do I wish Dan wrote more? Of course, but then I remind myself how he daily expresses his love and appreciation for me and our girls in his words and actions.
So, I'll continue to write my version of our life and safely keep the words he has written and will write.
P.S. If the aforementioned individual reads this... forgive me for divulging and indulging!
